How to Disable Windows Update



  1. Open the Run Dialog Box

    Press the Windows key + R.

  2. Type "services.msc" and Run

    Type "services.msc" in the Run dialog box and click on the "OK" button.

  3. Open the Services Window

    The Services window will open. Scroll down to find the "Windows Update" service.

  4. Access Windows Update Properties

    Right-click on the "Windows Update" service and select "Properties" from the context menu.

  5. Disable Windows Update Service

    In the Properties window, under the "General" tab, find the "Startup type" dropdown menu.

    Click on the dropdown menu and select "Disabled".

  6. Save Changes

    Click on the "Apply" button, and then click on the "OK" button to save the changes.

Note: Disabling Windows Update can leave your computer vulnerable to security risks. It is recommended to keep your system up to date by regularly checking for updates manually or re-enabling Windows Update periodically.
