Quaid-e-Azam
Quaid-e-Azam is a title given to Muhammad Ali Jinnah who is considered the founding father of Pakistan. He was born on December 25 1876 in Karachi now in Pakistan and passed away on September 11 1948. Jinnah was a prominent political leader statesman and lawyer who played a pivotal role in the creation of Pakistan as an independent nation for Muslims of British India.
Indian National Congress
During the British colonial rule in India Jinnah emerged as a prominent leader of the Indian National Congress which sought independence from British rule. However due to the growing tensions between Hindus and Muslims and the failure to reach a consensus on the structure of a future independent India Jinnah started advocating for the rights of Muslims as a separate nation.
He became the leader of the All India Muslim League and worked tirelessly to promote the idea of a separate Muslim state. His vision for a separate homeland for Muslims became known as the idea of Pakistan which means Land of the Pure in Urdu.
After years of negotiations and political struggles Pakistan was finally created on August 14 1947 as an independent state for Muslims. Jinnah became Pakistans first Governor General and later its first President.
