What is a Dark Web?

 The dark web is a part of the internet that is intentionally hidden and not accessible through traditional search engines or standard web browsers. It is a subset of the deep web which refers to all parts of the internet not indexed by search engines including private databases password protected websites and other content that isnt publicly accessible.

Dark Web Software?

The dark web requires special software the most common of which is Tor  The Onion Router to access. Tor routes internet traffic through a series of volunteer operated servers effectively anonymizing the users identity and location making it much harder to trace their online activities back to them.

Dak Web is Legal or Illegal

While the dark web itself is not inherently illegal it has gained a reputation for hosting illegal and illicit activities due to its anonymity and relative privacy. Some of these activities include the sale of drugs weapons stolen data counterfeit money hacking tools and more. Additionally the dark web is known to host forums and marketplaces for various illegal services as well as facilitating communication among individuals seeking to engage in illegal or covert activities.

Its important to note that the dark web is only a small portion of the deep web and the majority of content on the deep web is not related to illegal activities. It can also be used for legitimate purposes such as protecting users privacy accessing information in countries with restricted internet access and facilitating secure communication for whistleblowers and activists.
